“My husband and I were a bit unsure about hiring a dog trainer for our two puppies, who are just three weeks apart in age. “Lily’s philosophy and methods of teaching positive reinforcement training are wonderful, fun and, best yet, effective. For example “A dog is not being stubborn or trying to disobey you when they don’t listen; there is a communication break down and they just have no idea what you want”. I love that she emphasizes mutual respect, trust and providing an interesting and fun life for your dog where their needs really matter too. Her classes are very organized and her follow-up emails with a summary of each class plus additional information with videos (often including her demonstrations with her own dogs) are really helpful. In the 6 week Foundation Class I and one year old little Wendell grew in our ability to communicate with one another. It is even more clear that he really wants to understand what I am saying or expecting of him. It inspires me to want to do my best to understand him too. An already strong bond is even stronger after taking her class. Not only does he love “school” and love practicing, he jumps for joy when I touch his green training harness. After taking Lily’s class, Wendell and I are “talking” with one another even better.”
