Private Training

For humans to live comfortably with a different species, we all need to learn each other’s languages. Most human expectations for animals just do not come naturally to them! A mutual understanding will help you build a more trusting bond with your pet, making your efforts more impactful.

Let me help evaluate your dog’s physical health, mental wellness, and environment so we can make specific changes to set your whole household up for success. Then, using reward-based training, we’ll teach your pet specifically what we want them to do in different contexts, encouraging joyful participation and learning.

Together we can address:

  • pulling on leash

  • jumping during greetings

  • a perceived lack of “listening skills” (help building recall, attention &/or consistent responses to cues)

  • fearfulness

  • over reactivity (vocalizing/lunging around triggers)

  • resource guarding

  • aggression

  • trouble with grooming or being handled

  • problems between pets in the home

First: the Consultation

Our work together will begin with a 90-minute in-home (or virtual) consultation. We’ll thoroughly discuss your experiences with your pet(s) so far, including their behavior, history, physical health, and emotional well-being.

We’ll begin co-creating a comprehensive wellness plan for your dog, including effective management strategies and a personalized training plan.

Following the consult, you’ll receive detailed notes describing your pet’s initial wellness plan via email. Notes include multi-modal resources, printable graphics, specific instructions, and captioned video demos for reference.
